Pretty sure that will be a write-off, all the o/s panels dinged and at the very least the side curtain airbags deployed. If not a write-off it will be a very expensive repair, what a Censored !

At least the hazard lights came on automatically to keep everyone safe (another utterly pointless feature of modern cars - it would be more sensible if the battery auto-disconnected in an accident).

I presume that it isn't possible to switch off all these systems (airbags etc) when you don't want them on? Ironic that the car is clever enough to turn the hazards on, but not clever enough just to stop when it is about to fall over.

The point of the hazards is to alert people coming up on a crash, so they donā€™t crash into you and create a pileup.

Equally, if you crash off the road, hazards help draw attention to the wreckā€¦you will have seen that recent horrific case where people died after being in the wreck of their car for several days. Carpathian Grey 110 D300 HSE

Pretty sure most modern cars have some sort of battery disconnect system in the event of a crash (pyrofuse or otherwise).

Do you really want the airbags not to work when you turn your car over?

My money says it will be a write-off as well. Suspect unless it was smart enough to shut down the engine, there will be all sorts of issues with oil starvation and excess oil getting thrashed about under the piston skirts.

Under some circumstances, absolutely, you bet I do.

I've not come across anything as sophisticated as a pyrofuse on a light vehicle yet, and a megafuse is likely to be very little use. You can weld without blowing a megafuse, so setting a vehicle on fire without blowing the fuse is easy.

I suspect that (like rear fog lights) this is an idea which someone thinks is good and which has absolutely no real world supporting evidence. If you need the hazards on to avoid an inverted car in the road, you shouldn't be driving. Then again, as so many of the people on the roads today clearly shouldn't be driving, perhaps it is a good idea.

If youā€™re wearing a seatbelt, I canā€™t think of a situation.

As above, lots of cars have had battery safety disconnects for years, pyrofuse or otherwise. Iā€™ve just spent ~Ā£400 swapping the explosive ā€œbattery safety terminalā€ and harness on an old BMW.
