United Kingdom 2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Aintree Green
I went to Rosedale today, and found the event easilly, in a carpark almost in the centre of the village, right at the bottom of Rosedale Chimney Bank. Arrived around 12.30 and it was fairly quiet, only another 2 or 3 people having a look in the time we were there.

First thing to mention is there was only 1 vehicle there, the 2A-002 prototype, not the one with the interior fitted out.
So there was nothing to see of the production dash and interior, the front was locked but you could look through the windows.
The promotion event staff were very friendly and helpful, answering any questions they could, and showed me the inside of the back.
That was mostly bare, and had obviously been fitted out with test equipment for most of it's life.
As an early prototype, it has obviously lived a life and the finish was not to showroom standards. But it was holding together and presentable.

Impressions.
1. It's wide, didn't look so at the time, but returning to my 110 it looked narrow.
2. The space in the back didn't look very long, even with no back seats it seemed short. But it is wide, and SO easy to get at with both doors open.
I need to see one fully fitted out, but think it will be adequate for anyone that manages with a 110 SW.
3. Engineering wise, it measures up well against what we've heard looks a good and strong.
4. Yes it is a contender, might be my next vehicle. That all depends on the final cost and specs.

Happier with my decision not to bother now. Would have been disappointed not to see the interior. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Laughing No, but it can be easily replicated if anyone really wants just one.

There will be more events before launch, this year and next. I'll probably leave it until next year when the vehicles will be closer to production spec and there's more info on the pricing and order process.

I saw the white/cream silver (after I just looked at my pictures!) one yesterday at the Game fair. Really liked it.

Obviously it was pre production judging by the "not real" bits on it (fuel tank guard you could push in wiith your finger) and bits of trim missing.

This one had the optional second front wiper arm as well. Laughing

Some of the overhead switches seemed a bit superfluous as they were labelled "55amps, 100 amps" etc, I guess they were for some form of options list and they just stuck on any old labels.
the difflocks were nice though.... hope they are standard.

If anyone's going, I'd be curious to hear their response to how they get around/comply with Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989, specifically regulation 19.
