GPS Antenna Location
Is there a recommended location for a GPS antenna in a defender?? On my last one it just sat in the dash and seemed ok but I just got the JLR classic head unit and would be interested to know where people are putting them?

I have the same classic head unit and I installed the antenna under the drivers side wing top plastic vent cover
The antenna picks up a very good satellite signal and the wire threads through the rubber grommets behind the dash

I also installed the microphone for the phone connection into the A pillar
Mudstuff do an enlarged A pillar to hide wiring in- I drilled a hole into it which the Microphone pokes out of - almost level with my mouth - works very well

Mine comes up through the ashtray aperture and sits between the ashtray and the windscreen. The ashtray fits back in with the cable there no problem.

Then again, I have no idea if you have an ashtray in yours same as earlier ones.
