cautionCAUTION: When a new engine control module (ECM) is installed, the Land Rover approved diagnostic system must be connected to the vehicle and the ECM renewal procedure must be followed. This will allow the vehicle configuration to be uploaded into the new ECM.
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
2. Remove the engine control module (ECM) security bracket.
* Remove the bolt.
3. Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
4. Remove the 2 ECM nuts.
5. Remove the ECM.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
* Tighten to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).
2. cautionCAUTION: Make sure that the fuel pump replacement and pilot correction learn are carried out following the download.
Using the Land Rover approved diagnostic system, configure the new ECM.

I just read your post again I jamp the gun a it there OK, the connectors should just leaver and force the pug off, but you will probably have to help them off- the plastic clip thing won't be strong enough to break the watertight seal between the plug and ECU. If that makes sense? once you have levered as far as you can go pop a large flat blade screwdriver between the plug and ECU and work them both together- that should pop them off.
But as always, if it feels like it is going to break/ snap, stop as it probably will.
