Salt water above window level = immediate insurance write-off due to the cost of repair.

It might make a good Cat C write-off for someone with time on their hands to clean out and rebuild (but why would anyone want to, Laughing ?), but I can only imagine the long term damage of salt water immersion on all the on-board electronics.

Salt water is very aggressive to the electronics and makes it oxyde very fast in hours not days.

Sand is already tricky for sailing boats, now sand dunes and 4x4 is difficult, but sand + mud + water … that tops all Thumbs Up

Probably the driver saw LR promotional videos where they drive near the sea. But don‘t they warn that everything is done with professional drivers, on prepared roads and ways ?
Kids don‘t do this at home!

The dealer should have put this sticker

He might not have gotten himself that deep initially, just got stuck and the tide came in. Not that I’m saying the new Deafner can get stuck. Whistle Whistle

There are other photos of the run up to this drowning on the internet - it got bogged down on the beach well above sea level (before the tide came in)

Not gonna fix this one by filling it full of rice methinks... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I thought that initially too, but the people around stand much higher. These sand holes hidden in water are tricky. Got once stuck with a sailing boat in the Netherlands. 22MY Defender 110 (actual) | 10MY Freelander 2 (history) | 15MY Discovery Sport HSE (history)
