LR038612 - DEFENDER FRONT WING SEAL
Might be a daft question, but do these need fitting to both sides? Given it’s a genuine part, why on earth don’t they come with them? Also, any cheaper alternatives?

Part 17: https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/l...ender.html

Cheers
Col

They are very bad fit and do fall off. Mine has two from new but I have used black RTV sealant to keep then secure. There must be an after market seal profile available.

I believe they're on vehicles 2012 onwards. I've not seen any non-genuine versions on the market LR Workshop

Thanks Will. Mine is a 2013 and has nine, so perhaps fell off. £25 for 6” of seal seams outrageous! Perhaps that just the Yorkshireman in me!

I thought I had found a suitable shaped seal on eBay but in the end I bought a genuine one (whilst gritting my teeth). Rgds.

I bought one of those recently and the best price was from site sponsor, Advanced Factors. However, I've just checked their website and the price is now the same as from LR Sad Darren

I finally bit the bullet, ordered the genuine ones, LR038612. LR Switzerland wanted CHF 60.- (£ 57.-) EACH! jaguarlandroverclassic.com sells them for less than half of that, still insane for what it is but here’s hoping it contributes keeping the footwell dry….ok, less wet, got it.
Any tipps regarding maintenance and mounting of these precious things? Thanks Smile

I’m struggling to visualise these elusive things despite the parts picture - has anyone for a ‘real’ photo of them in situ?

I'd be tempted to stick the seals on with something like Sikaflex, as they're a friction fit and sometimes have a habit of falling off.

For Screbble, this is the picture linked to above:
