When to replace suspension?
I’ve been told after a recent service that my 2008 110 CSW has a leaky shock so I’m investigating options. I assume I need to change the springs too? I think they’re all original but it’s only done 45k. I’d like to upgrade if it’s sensible but am not into too much bling and only really do road miles, a bit of country tracks and horse box towing. Seeking your wise words - on my first post!

Very Happy

You don't have to change the springs, if they're OK, not sagging, sitting level and not too rusty.
Standard original spec springs are the best compromise for all uses in a Defender.

Shocks, any good brand manufacturer, replace both on the axle at the same time.
Standard length if sticking with standard springs.

Was it a main dealer looking for some money, or a trusted indie?

It was a trusted indie who was just letting me know I need to think about changing the shock(s) soon, and I wanted to check whether I should do the springs at the same time. I’ve had some great advice both here and in the correct Defender area! Thanks.
