Odd 90 question ... passenger window
Hi

Not had a Land Rover before so not sure if a quirk but on our new 90 P300 the passenger window doesn’t go down all the way into the door .. flush near the mirror and it sticks up about the 2cm towards the rear..The drivers goes flush. My family also have a 110 and that front passenger window goes all the way down.

I asked the dealer to check the demo 90 in the showroom and the passenger window was the same as ours so it’s not a fault I just wondered if other peoples 90s are the same or if someone knew the reason why?

Hi Vern,

Have you tried the window reset procedure just in case it’s not been done since build or part of QA/PDI?

Doesn't sound right to me and I suspect the dealer is trying to avoid an issue.
If the window goes all the way down on the driver's side, why wouldn't it do the same on the passenger side. I suspect the window mechanism hasn't been fitted correctly.

Both right and left are identical, there is about a centimetre that sticks up.

Suspect yours aren't 100% adjusted as well Digger2000. Either that or its JLRs way of discouraging you from driving with your elbow out of the window Crying or Very sad

I’ll live with it they are the same as my bmw and these doors are thick doesn’t cause a problem with my elbows. Got to remember the 110 has a smaller window the doors are longer on the 90 and the window tapers toward the rear of the car same as the roof line.

So .. as it was bugging me a tried the window reset that is in the e Manual again and nothing .. so I googled and there are other more complex resetting procedures.. that involve listening for a click. Tried loads and it worked ... window went all the way down .. very chuffed with myself .. turned car off and on again and and it had gone back to sticking up a bit Big Cry

Having seen the window go all the way down now I’m even more annoyed Laughing

And next time you get the window all the way down, for goodness sake take a pic otherwise the dealer will say “but they all do that, sir”. Whistle Whistle
