New Thrust Washer ERR5345LR Wont fit on Defender TD5 Engine

Hi Guys

This is Steven T. Johns
I recently tried to overhaul my LandRover defender TD5 engine with VIN SALLDHM584A682480. I removed the old thrust washer and replaced it with a new one with part number ERR5345LR, bought from FirstFour Offroad Ltd. Unfortunately, the new washer can not fit in the space. It seems to be a bit thicker than the old one. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I was told that all the thrust washers for the TD5 engine, are of the same thickness.

I also noticed some numbers on the parts. On the old thrust washer I saw a inscription FM1704 whereas on the new thrust washer I saw the number 4604.

Can anyone guide me as to what to do?
