new defender swapped for ???

Having had new defenders (90HT) and then D300 110, ive just part exd my 110 for a 2017 G wagon G63

Always wanted one, its a 5.5 V8, top speed is similar to the 110, but the way it gets there is brutal

In many ways its drives worse than the defender, but in some ways, the crazy nature of making a nearly 3ton 4x4 do 0-60 in 5 seconds with 560 bhp makes it absurd and quite fun.

It will be either the best thing ive done, or the most stupid, Very Happy Very Happy

Will see how it goes

Interested in a comparison of day to day ownership, engine apart, boot space etc

Lovely vehicle, looked at them myself.

But so expensive makes a Defender seem cheap. And damn, they're ugly. Not a vehicle you would look out of your lounge window at, that's for sure. Plus, parts prices will have you sobbing into your Weetabix

l would still have one though. Just look at the residuals, and lifespan. That will still be going strong when a similar age new Defender has been turned into drinks cans.

Oh and black is definitely the best colour, without too much silly bling or wheels that were once on a Hummer.
Yours is probably as good as it gets. l will be genuinely interested to see how you get on with it.

Weird, one thing I didn't want was black one, as I don't sell drugs fro a living or do football Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I agree - it looks the part and certainly isn’t a sheep in wolf’s clothing.
I love that engine πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

The looks don't do it for me l'm afraid, particularly from the back. But l would still have one.

They are just so, well, out there.

I really don't know

I loved my D300, it did everything I ever asked from it.

But

was it so good it was kinda boring ?

I'm a bit weird, I see so many new defenders around, and that makes me want something unusual

I just always wanted a G63

if I don't get on with it illl keep it a year and go back to a D300 110 hardtop

Friend has the new "softer" version and would love to change the full fat RR in for it, but considering what i paid for my L405 vs a new gen G63 it's a heck of a chunk.

They are also one of the most popular SUV's down in South florida (im based out of FL 6 months a year), i was opposite the Mercedes garage in FLL a few weeks back and there must of been 15 Gwag's in the lot.

Sorry Land Rover Whistle Ride like you stole it!!
If I’m not on a bike it’s because only a 4x4 will do…

Well, at twice the price of a mid range Defender it would definitely need to be a lottery win to get me into one.
