Can only comment on what i have which is the slick shift, good quality, well packaged, works well, easy to fit, good improvement on the standard, very helpful installation video. In essence an nice modification and worth the money.

Slick shift V2 here. Really pleased with it.

@Steve - does the lever position foul - or is it close to the cubby, I am leaning towards the Shift R but Slick Shift ‘appears’ to provide more clearence?

No it shouldn’t do, it’s much the same as standard and I didn’t notice any difference really other than a very small amount higher I think but nothing that you’d worry about or notice.
It feels brilliant, I lubed mine right up with lots of Castrol lithium grease. It doesn’t feel heavier either and it’s definitely very smooth. It isn’t cheap no, but it is definitely worth it and feels like it should have done from the factory. On mine, with the original fitting I went to lube it and found the nylon ball had cracked. So I was lucky it didn’t let me down, so as it was replacement time I thought I may as well upgrade. Decently up there with the best mods I’ve done. I fitted the Shift R v2 and it doesn't foul the cubby but will hit my bottle of water in the cupholder. I'm not sure if that is the case with the Slick shift but for gearchanges I didn't notice anything between them. Either will be an improvement on stock.
If you haven't already fitted a LOF power spring, I'd definitely recommend. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

In the end in came down to anecdotal evidence ( recommendations) and ease of fitting. The Shift R came complete and literally just “popped in” Really did take more time to remove the mats and gubbins. I couldn’t be arsed with all the fitting up that came with the slick shift. It may suit some of the more technical guys on the forum but I’m a “K.I.S.S.” Type of guy and four bolts out then four bolts in Works for me. That said there REALLY does seem to be nothing else that separates them ( price not withstanding) once fitted. And it is a truly worthwhile upgrade. L.O.F. Does anybody have one of these fitted with a raised cubby, particularly the Shift R , I have the mudstuff sub locker and if the shift r hits a bottle in the cubby would it hit a raised cubby?
