Looking at new Defender as new company car
Hi all

As most of you know I sold my old puma 110 XS to Belgium with 200k miles on

I am running about in a borrowed 2011 BMW 330i coupe which is not my bag! (Dads old company car)

Im looking at leasing a new defender 110 commercial, tax benefits etc

how far off are these? As I need a vehicle pretty sharpish! even considering a Disco 5 commercial or Ford ranger if I have to!

does anyone have any info or deals on these? probably Lease, is there even a 130 version coming?

I looked at leasing, was prohibitively expensive for what you get. RR Velar is much cheaper and more economical to run. In the end I went for a Skoda Kodiaq,. I have enough Land Rovers to keep my masochistic tendencies covered when needed. 80" 1948

I'm guessing that the leasing requirement will preclude it but a D4 commercial is a nice place to be. Darren

Have you booked in for the preview event?

I would imagine deliveries of the Hard Top will be next year.

Its not set in stone I do have cash to buy but would rather lease but a D4 comm is certainly a option, we already have a 2015 D4 XS that my wife drives.

I have seen D4.5 commercials on 15/65 plates ranging between £9500-13000 which is good value and would pay itself off after a year based on 500PCM lease. 2008 Santorini Black 110 XS USW (Sold)

The commercial does look good, it’s a shame they didn’t extend the white panel onto the back doors.

I wonder if they will off the 130 as a utility? With it being a bit longer.

Have you tried asking JLR if this model qualifies for all the appropriate tax benefits?

Surely you should be asking your accountant not JLR. If your accountant looks at his little book of VAT and BiK vehicles he can tell you straight away rather than some oik in a suit telling you what you want to hear. 110 D250 SE HT

As far as I remember it's the manufacturer who decides the spec of the vehicle and whether they are making it for a particular element of the market.

Agreed but HMRC have the final say, When I spoke to my accountant about my 110, he just said they have a book. They look up your make and model of vehicle, if it's in the book then all good, if it's not then you are on sticky ground and no accountant would be claiming VAT back and BiK if it wasn't in the book.
