Raised breather size help
Looking at raising the breathers on axles and gearboxes. You can buy kits out there but from what I can see it’s just pneumatic fitting and hoses so easy to make my own. Only question is the thread size for the connections to the axles and gearbox etc. Does anybody know?

Axle breather threads (upto TD5) are G1/8" (BSPP). Td5 and puma have push fit connections already.

I would replace the standard axle banjo connections (if pre TD5) with right angled elbows. But just use the existing gearbox and transfer box breather tubes and just extend them if you want them higher.

Cheers Steve, it’s a Puma so I’m assuming I need hose and some gear to make neat manifold. Any idea on the hose size?

You can buy a tidy manifold for the breather pipe ends in the engine bay on ebay.

Bit of a chew sorting the fuel tank breather out, but all done and plumbed in.
