Beaches you can drive on
Ideally looking for some beaches where I can drive on and set up for the day.

Searching brings up the same few beaches in Wales and West Mid but are there any others?

Doesn't necessarily need to be a drive on beach, as long as I can set up the awning/room so we have a base close by.

Any ideas welcome Very Happy

Thanks

Lots in Scotland! Especially the NW coast! Driven on beaches a bit when launching my Kayaks...

Also round Berwick. Lindisfarne seems not to be a problem, especially near the Causeway

No beaches in the West Mids!!! It started with a kiss, never thought it would come to this.

Thanks for that.

Porthmadog does look the best. It’s a shame it’s nearly 5 hours from me so might need to plan a few days there.

I’m sure I saw a beach in West Mid but I could be wrong lol.

Anything in the South East? Really just want somewhere to go where kids can run around all day.

Yes there is a beach in the West Midlands - it's actually in Solihull so I'm sure they'll welcome Land Rovers Rolling with laughter

South of Weston Super Mare, Brean, Berrow, area had drive on beaches ... had good family time there years ago.

Do it while you can ... you miss those times when they have gone. It started with a kiss, never thought it would come to this.

Think you can still get on Ainsdale near Southport, although it’s not anything like as open as it used to be. When I was a kid my Dad used to take me and let me drive his car on the sands from Ainsdale to Southport, must have only been about 10. Probably get taken into care if that happened now! 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I thought Dungeness is all stones/shingle? And part of it’s an SSSI despite having the UK’s biggest nuclear power station on it, so I would image not much chance of getting to drive it. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

All in Ireland, if you can get to them. In fact it is encouraged to leave seaside villages free of congestion.

The whole of the Sefton coast including Ainsdale and Southport are now national trust managed. Driving is restricted to parking areas. Although they are large areas you might as well drive in a builder yard on sand.
I used to work on the beaches and landys would go through brakes and ujs for fun. Part of the reason for restricting driving was lads hooning around. I responded to a lad who had sat on an old bonnet upside down and been towed like a sled by the lock loop. As it swung out as the car turned it flipped and all but cut his leg off. Smaller areas mean less speed and less danger.

Was there earlier this year - stunning, unique but no chance of beach driving.

Any chance of even parking close to the sea away from other people?
