It's a YES from me. Ok we can all find the odd thing we don't like but that applies to any vehicle. We compromise on the little things if overall we like it.

I think INEOS are on to a winner here. If I were Jim Ratcliffe I wouldn't hang around getting it into production. There's going to be a lot of skilled labour looking for work shortly. Re- double the efforts in building the factory (think Chinese/Japanese and build in months rather than years)
Get the workforce on your side by giving them a stake in the product.

I say this, cos at 70yrs of age, I want one before I have to give up driving Rolling Eyes

Much better than I was expecting. The back and side look good and I like the slightly G Wagen / Defender cues. Not keen at all on the front grill, lights or funny looking bonnet though. Maybe it will grow on me.

I would not be surprised to hear that Mr JR keeps an eye on this forum, and others too no doubt, and is pleased with the reception the vehicle is getting. It is cheaper than getting a market research company to question people. I'd say the utility companies who do not find the new JLR product suitable are on his contact list as they would be planning ahead fleet wise. Also they would be buying in batches not single units so that is a good way to get your new vehicle to the market place. It will be interesting to see what the warranty will be and how claims will be dealt with. The GRENADIER will have something in common with the new JLR Defender, namely, both will be completely new to the dealers who will be carrying out warranty work on them.
I noticed that the crew cab pick up has a full sized door for the rear passengers. Does that mean there will be the same leg room for second seat passengers as in the station wagon version? Some crew cabs have very little room in the second row and really cramp passengers on any sort of long journey.
There are bound to be electronics and sensors but to what level?
Like I said before this is definitely heading in the right direction but the final product will tell a lot. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Note the Safari windows. They are actually recesses with grab handles, not windows, to aid climbing to the roof.

Like that Thumbs Up
And I see others on Pistonheads are saying that there's a toolkit behind the square on the small rear door.

The small black plastic squares on the doors and the black rail round the waste are for attaching accessories.

Again, others making mention that these areas are wired for lights. Thumbs Up

Who doesn't like removable doors, although there was always a debate about the legality, with the answer usually being a piece of baling twine secured across the opening would be classed as a restraint!

Earlier someone mentioned the possibility of a legal challenge from JLR regarding the close similarity between the Grenadier and the old Defender. Recently JEEP won a case in India against MAHINDRA who have to stop manufacturing one of their models. It is ironic that in the advertising for the model, MAHINDRA used to comment on how their model echoed the styling of the classic JEEP.As well as having to stop producing the model I presume there was a financial penalty as well.
I would say that there would be a lot of political pressure on JLR not to pursue a legal challenge given the amount of potential jobs that could be at stake. Besides as JLR had publically dumped the Defender probably would not do them any favours. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

The electronics and sensors need to be left with the engine otherwise you will end up a vehicle too complex for some of the markets they are aiming at. Think 70 series Toyotas.

Pre-Registered for first wave of deposits... Nuff said...

As others have said already, Won't be long before the aftermarket are marking parts to make it look however you want it too... It doesn't matter how bad it is, It can always get worse...

I think it looks very santana. £40k! It would cost £20k to get in that. I’ll be sticking with the old defender, £20k would see it better than when it rolled out of line 5 years ago.

No reason why there should be any debate about it, there is no legal requirement for doors to be fitted as long as the vehicle is designed either not to have them or to be safe with them removed (ie they're not structural).

But even in 2016 a new one needed 20k spent on it to make it ok. 1951 80" S1 2.0

I hope they do read this forum because I agree with many: Great start - but do something about that front end!
