Adhesive tape for number plates
Any recommendation for best quality that will stay stuck? Something with a bit of thickness to slightly raise the plate off the panel. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Halfords do a thicker number plate sticker, about 2 - 3mm thick. Used it in January, well below the recommended temperature, but has stuck really well.

3m is looking favourite, although I can only find thin stuff. Can’t face going in the nearest Halfords, it is such a dump inside, I’m never quite sure if they’ve just been ram raided. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I have a roll of the double sided tape from Halfords, it’s about maybe 2” wide on a roll,
I’ve done loads of number plates with it, on cars , trailers , caravans, the only problem I’ve ever had is getting the Censored of again Rolling with laughter

I use the little sticky rectangles made by sellotape. Come in a blue packet like blu tack does. Have used them for years and they are very sticky. Used to hold my curved bmw plate on no problem.

I used Halford thicker one when put a personalised plate on mine, 6 years later when I wanted to change the bumper I couldn't get the number plate off with causing damage so had to get new plate. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Dealer fitted one fell off. Used 3M VHB in January, but this came loose after a few days. Probably too cold to work, even though I warmed things up with a hair dryer.
Looks like I am stuck with the Halfords thick one then!

Can’t fault these, never let me down . If you need to remove a plate, slide a thin sharp knife down the back to split the sticky pad without damaging plate or what it’s stuck to
