It may be damned ugly but the performance figures are very impressive... it might actually even be real...

The company has announced an electric SUV “Triton Model H” with 700 miles (1126 km) of battery range, which is even more than twice the range of the Tesla Model 3, whose long-range version can last up to 323 miles. The Triton Model H is an eight-seater electric SUV with an unbelievable battery range. As per the sources, the reason behind Triton’s high efficiency of 700 miles, on a single charge, is a 200 kWh battery pack. The electric car has an all-wheel-drive system with four electric motors, one on each wheel. The Triton Model H electric SUV has thrilling performance figures, as claimed by the company. With the said electric powertrain, it will produce an output of 1500 HP and acceleration similar to a small sports car. The Tridon Model H claims a 0 to 60 mph acceleration time of only 2.9 seconds. Furthermore, the electric SUV has a towing capacity of 15,400 lbs (6,985 kg). Triton claims that this electric vehicle is made to pull and carry heavy loads without compromising the driving comfort. The Triton Model H is available for pre-booking on the company’s official website. Looks like an armoured vehicle that if is was sand coloured would be better suited to Afghanistan. With that in mind, and from a handling perspective, I'm not sure I'd want 1500bhp and a 0-60 time of 2.9 secs.

that thing is well beyond the realms of ugly. I'm not sure that a suitable word even exists? and as AMBxx said - what could possibly go wrong - especially during the current worldwide crisis. |

I'm personally less interested in the looks but more the fact that they are claiming a range of 700 miles...
Even if this proves to a little optimistic, it's still a huge range. |

Huge range thanks to having a huge battery. Given the weight of such a large battery, I'm not convinced. Bit like saying it has a great range when used with a trailer-battery.

Without comparing it to any other vehicle, if it does what it says on the tin, I don't mind the way it looks.
If you compare a rhino to a horse then sure, the horse may look prettier...but when you need a rhino... I was convinced that fuel cells were the only way forward but if you could get 700 miles out of a standard car... Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Actually, it's not, it's the complete opposite... Looking at their website they also offer: "We deliver battery backup in shipping containers for large scale requirements ranging from 1 MWh to 10 MWh in a single shipping container. Our compact battery technology can provide 10 MWh in a 40 ft shipping container unlike anyone else. We provide onboard touchscreen for easy operations paired with our very own online IoT platform Triton CMS."
So given the quoted towing figures for the vehicle, a 20ft towed battery might come out at 5 MWh; and my maths might get a little sketchy here, but if that's 25 times the capacity of the onboard battery, then it should extend the range by 17,500 miles. OK knock some off for the weight of the trailer...for most people that's still more than a year's driving! |

Umm, one problem with doing up your Defender that way is for that company you have to ship your car to the USA for conversion. I investigated doing it through a Dutch company and it was the same, ship the car to The Netherlands and leave it with us for 4-6 months........... and let us charge you £65,000 + return ferry fares for the service. Is it worth spending that much on a car worth half the cost of an unproved conversion from a company with no history.
