Correct Front Door Seals TD5
Trying to buy a pair of door seals to replace the current tired ones.

When I looking on lrworkshop it directs me to LR024955 and LR077687.

But, these say for 2007 onwards and mine is 2002.

So, will these newer ones fit? If not what is the correct part number?

I think they should be fine as long as you mean the big seal which goes all the way around the door.

If its the little one which goes on the bottom of the door they changed when the door pressing changed in around 2006 so best thing to do is go out and look to see if your door bottom has a square welded appearance or a rounded pressed one. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

I mean the long seal that goes all the way around the door frame. Not the one on the bottom of the door.

Yep thats them Thumbs Up

Best start in the top corners then just tap it home with a hammer. Also a good idea to check the gaffa tape in the corners behind the old seals where the roof meets the windscreen and B posts as if its missing or loose it may cause leaks. Just put a square of new tape if they look damaged. Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

What is this tape you speak of? There’s none on my TD5. Can someone post a picture of where the tape should go exactly?

If you have the seal off there are some places where there is no metal where the seal is clamped around by head I would look at the top part where the roof connects to the windscreen and where the windscreen comes to the bulkhead.
On the rear side off the door: at the top connection to the roof and where the rearbody and the rear sides come together. Roel

to make it easier take the pin out of the door check strap and tat allows a but more space ,be careful it doesn't hit the door pillar.

we always start at the windscreen corner and do the front 1 first

for the gaps gaffer tape will do fine
