 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
td5 and td4 fuel tanks
does anyone know if they are interchangable?

i know the pump setup is different on each but are the tanks and fittings universal? ie could you drop a td4 tank and fit the ancils to a td5 tank? Cheers

Assuming that by Td4 you mean TDCi, then I think that they are. The Puma tank pickup is the same as a TD5 pickup/pump except without the pump - the plastic body even has the mouldings where the pump would be on a TD5 unit.

I replaced the one on my '07 110 some time ago and came to the conclusion that somewhere in Solihull there's a bloke who takes TD5 units and strips the pump out to turn them into TDCi units, it was the only explanation I could find for the TD5 (with pump) being cheaper than the TDCi (without pump)!

As far as I know the tank itself is identical, certainly on an early Puma.

Tanks are interchangeable.

The breather setup changed during Puma years - some had two breather lines, others had one breather with the second t’eed off the main breather.

td5 = tdci, yes

Sounds like the TDCi pickup unit is the same as a late 300Tdi RoW fuel tank (was rear mounted like Td5's, well in 90's anyway)

That's useful to know, I wonder if the 300Tdi unit is the same outrageous price as the Puma one. Probably.
