Why do you want to change your springs if you want a standard setup, which I assume you currently already have?

Honestly, try the alive comfort springs… much better ride, I’ve towed 3 ton + a few times now and no drama.

I have had a chat with Alive regarding their comfort springs as they were my number one choice. They did warn me against them for towing heavy loads so I’ve started looking at standard springs again. I’d be quite happy with Eibach quality but prefer standard spring rates. Yes maybe not quite as compliant as Alive comfort springs and Fox 2.0 shocks but more “utility” when required.
Does anyone sell Eibach springs in standard spring rates? |

I initially was the one who discovered the issue with the alive springs towing heavy, but since then made some modifications with the longer spring and tow a 2.6ton boat & tri axle ifor around without issue…

Every spring you put under your Defender will rust unfortunately, they're in just about the worst place. Standard genuine shocks will probably do a better job of day to day work than fancy Fox shocks.

Fox/Alive(eibach). Go from a crashy 90 to actually feeling damping work, no brainer.

Id just get some standard OEM LR ones theres not much wrong with them and you see them on ebay all the time as take off items from newish defenders when people are upgrading for not much £.

I too am considering fitting Fox 2.0 shocks with Alive Comfort springs on one of my 90’s. My only trouble is deciding whether to opt for standard height or 1” lower. I presume there’s a touch less roll on the lower ones but seeing as my Stirling Moss days are behind me I’m struggling to make a choice. Anyone got any comments on either setup?
