why has no one mentioned BFG ATs? I have a set and they are great for all year round, dont seem to wear out. Onroad/Off road etc.

We have a set too. 235/85s. Can't recommend them highly enough all round but I'm conscious that I'm one of many on here that like them.

So just to mix up the debate BFG AT's or General Grabber AT2's?

Opinions please?

AT2's are excellent tyres. I've got them fitted to both my wifes' DII and my Freelander and both performed flawlessly in the snow we had last year. The traction control on either vehicle didn't kick in unless really provoked.

By a happy coincidence, my new 110 has already had them fitted by the previous owner, otherwise I'd be buying a set for that too. Darren

I have cooper discoverer M+S snow tyres, proper winter compound, amazing grip and stability and provision for studs.

NOTE: Driving in the snow is probably 70% skill and 30% tires.

Everyone says the BFG MTs are Terrible in the snow- but I traversed the 606 (taking back roads when the barriers were down) every week in the winter of 09/10 and spent most of last winter in the mountains of Austria (well above the snow line) and had no problems at all.

Yes if you are having to cover large milage every day it would be a good idea.

Plus.... why spend money on good tyres and then find out all roads are closed because total retards go out in their fiesta, get stuck and abandon their car.

Germany and Austria do have the right idea Thumbs Up Make it a legality to have winter tyres when the weather gets bad.

Just my 5p, lol
