If you really want to understand McG’s target market....
The link below is to an article highlighting a new collaboration between LR and Zenith watches designed around the New Defender. If you really want to understand McGovern’s target market for the new Def, this is it. And if you thought Land Rover’s association with Barbour just served to produced over-priced waxed jackets, at 13,500€ this watch easily trumps that.... Shocked Big Cry

That was posted on here a few weeks ago. It's funny that the only visual connection with the Defender is on the back. Darren

“ It's funny that the only visual connection with the Defender is on the back.”

And of a fairly boring looking alloy wheel.

Certainly not of its predecessor’s iconic silhouette.

If you slid the watch across the table at the pub and asked your mate to guess what the rear detail represented, they wouldn’t have the foggiest. If it was the image above, they may well know. Even if they called it a ‘Jeep’. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Agree with that.
I thought the wheel on the back of the watch looked like an 1970's Porsche Fuchs wheel.

I’ll stick with my £10 Casio. Never really seen the fascination with watches personally.

^^^ Anyone who can afford to blow 13k on a watch, it’s probably not their only luxury watch, (just as they may have more than one car, house etc) and so in real terms to them may be like wearing a £10 Casio. An ‘average’ luxury watch, for example the ever-popular Rolex Submariner, is 8.5k€. They’re the RS4 of cars As opposed to Ferrari. They’re not cheap, but they’re not expensive compared to some, they’re a premium watch, but mass produced, and they’re everywhere. And there are a hug number of brands selling at this price bracket: IWC, Jaeger LeCoutre, Panerai, Breitling, Zenith, Omega, Cartier etc. Get into the world of Patek Philippe or Franck Muller and you’re looking at 40k€ upwards, and if you favour Richard Mille, (the watch you see on the wrist of Rafael Nadal, Bubba Watson, PHARRELL Williams, Yohan Blake etc), and you’ll be poorer for no less than 0.5m€ when you walk out of the shop Shocked

It’s a very different world..... Thumbs Up Monsieur Le Grenadier

Get your point exactly Grenadier.
40 years ago I bought my first Land Rover, a 1959 Series II, and a basic stainless steel Rolex with the change that I had from saving for a TR6!
Still wearing the Rolex, still driving a Land Rover.
The Rolex is not sitting in a drawer with various expensive watches because I can't afford trinkets, but I can afford to buy quality once.
Target market for the latest LR branded vehicle can afford trinkets. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

Ugly watch, ugly car. Just my opinion.
They both look cheap but at least they match Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...
