Today we have yet another unknown as transport minister, somebody who has no experience outside of the Westminster Bubble. One thing that is intriguing is one of the Minister’s responsibilities - she is in charge of “shadow” roads - I assume that those are all the roads outside of Westminster and the velvet surfaced highways of S E England
https://www.gov.uk/government/people/kelly-tolhurst Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Shadow roads are privately built roads that the govt. then pays a fee for us to use. Closely linked to PFI agreements and so new ones are less common now:

Not true...she runs a yacht paint shop in Rochester...perfect qualifications for her new job...might see more road markings becoming compulsory in the near future |

Where are these "velvet surfaced highways of S E England". Long time since I drove one of those around here! Try driving the A272 in West Sussex.

She's just announced a £17m investment to improve the A2300 in West Sussex to make commuting easier for road users. Am I missing something here? I thought we were wanting to discourage the use of private cars and get more people using public transport? Defender 90XS SW
