Could be your thermostat is stuck open, and the engine can't get up to usual operating temprature?

I shouldn't worry the difference between low and high on the gauge represent about 3 degrees centigrade, The fan and radiator are doing what they are supposed to do. Don't make old people mad.

It is OK if the temperature drops a bit, but not to its lowest point. Check if the EGR cooler is not leaking. This happened to me some years ago and I was experiencing the same symptoms. Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR
