He could post stuff of relevance to most of the buyers like how many oil changes he’s had due to oil dilution and how many regenerations the DPF has had to do....... but I suppose that would be bad publicity from the Director of PR - not the truth which is a slightly hard thing for PR guys to grasp.

I don’t think this will affect the new Defender, my D5 with the 3.0 (single turbo not the now fitted twin turbo from the RRS) engine suffered badly but my Velar 2.0 D240 has went the full 2 years before asking for its service. If it had the D180 then I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole, but the twin turbo D200/240 should be good, though one known issue is balancer shaft issues with the 240 though again mines been fine.

It's all to do with the positioning of the DPF and the vehicle platform:
The D7a Velar has a close coupled DPF and should be less of a problem
The D7u RRS and D5 have a medium coupled DPF and are more at risk of oil dilution.
The new Defender is on the D7u platform, wether JLR re-engineered the emissions system to overcome the issue remains to be seen.
JLRs own explanation to their sales people,

He’s only a PR guy trying to be hip for his 12 year old daughter - bet he’s just like the Dad in the long running VW Tiguan TV ad. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

..thats only one of the requirements. In order to comply, you have to be hipster, you must sit in some famous coffee shop and browse some fashion web sites on your Apple MacBook Pro, at least 3 times a day, and you have to be politically correct..

Additional note:
You have to figure out, where to fit your mr twinky down there, once you hop in to tiny skinny pants, otherwise someone may be offended and therefore that will disqualify you.
