Odd you cant connect to webmail via a browser. Have you tried another browser? What error does the webmail give?
Whats the link to the webmail (not username/password) if you can give that a public forum.

Is this more outlook via the web rather than outlook via software installed? 1999 Defender TD5 110

Big Cry

its going down hill. can't now get to webmail at all - I could earlier on my tab - I can even see the screen in my 'recent' history.

https://swofmedia.mthservers.com:2096/

each time I try it comes up with a time out result on the pc and the tab is now showing the same (can't be reached)

I haven't got a clue?

Does it work via the tablet when on 4g/hotspot?

Maybe your ISP blocks certain ports in this case, port 2096 1999 Defender TD5 110

just tried the tab with the 4g mobile hot spot and it doesn't work.
I seem to think I've now got further issues ie the webmail has blocked me due to failed attempts?

I've got an early start tomorrow so off to bed - will need to pick this up late tomorrow / Wednesday - thank you for taking the trouble to respond - very much appreciated.
Thumbs Up

Very odd. Might be worth asking other workers if their access is working...?

good luck 1999 Defender TD5 110

I had a had a problem last year with my Hotmail and Live email addresses, I could view on my phone and at work. They would sync with each device, my home PC would not sync and I was only able to view emails. With the help of a Microsoft tech it was found that the PC update had altered the account settings moving them away from the Microsoft exchange server to something obscure on the Microsoft platform. It took him about an hour to remotely sort it out as nobody knew that it was a problem. It was only by working backwards , deleting each update, while the tech watched , that I managed to find out which one was causing the problem, as a result Microsoft gave me two free years of tech support. Don't make old people mad.

Start a command prompt in admin mode (right click), then type:

ipconfig /flushdns

That will clear your local DNS cache and may help.

Other than that, try a different browser - MS are updating their security protocols, so if you're using an old browser the new stuff may not be supported.

not completely sure what caused the problem but for now its working.

I've removed fire wall but I think the issue was related to the server blocking me.
A variation of my email address for my wife was removed from the domain and although it was removed from her lap top the email account was still on her phone - so possibly the phone has kept trying to access the domain too many times and a block went on the domain / server whatchamacallit thing which in turn was preventing me gaining access?

and time moves on......

so I've bitten the bullet and got MS365 home. the theory being I want to be up to date and have MS on all of my devices (x2 laptop x1 phone and x1 tablet).
after the initial shock of thinking I couldn't have synched email and diary via outlook on the devices I thinking otherwise and believe it does work although I have no idea how I've stumbled into the situation I'm now in.

so my old laptop is still running 2013 until I'm confident the new laptop is running as it should be. tablet appears to have a synched outlook diary but there's no emails. I note outlook appears to be running off a different account (email address) that I've not set up on MS365 (its using the email installed on 2013) and when I try to change user its asking for a google email and does not recognise the email address I'm using on MS365?

my android phone is synching emails and desired but not the calendar (both in outlook)?

any thoughts, recommendations?

new laptop appears to be working as expected.

cheers Wayne

i am suspecting that, that 2013 support has been pulled due to security etc. So maybe too old now to view emails etc. I have had windows 10 not play ball with Youtube etc, an update sorted that out. Thumbs Up

Got to remember the newer products only support the older stuff for a certain length of time, and then as updates come out the support drops off.

thanks Procta.

I've made some progress. Emails working / synching across all 3 devices. however when I reply to an email off my phone it does not carry across the email chain - the recipient receives only my comment which can be pretty useless - I guess this is down to a setting on the phone I've yet to find?

Calendar does not synch and the phone & tablet both say 'you can't add an appointment as the account does not support it' - someone has suggested I need to buy the 'exchange' app for approx £4/month ? Can anyone verify that?
