300 tdi glow plug light.

300 tdi. The glow plug warning light does not come on when the key is turned up to the starting position. All of the other lights come on as they should. I have changed the dash bulb but still no joy. It starts fine. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

2007 Defender 110 300 Tdi SW Chawton White

1. With the help of somebody chech for power at the glow plugs them selves with a multimeter.
2. If no power check fuses and relay.
3. If you have power at the glow plugs it's the wiring going to the dash.

Had a look and there is no wire going to the bulb holder in the warning panel. That probably explains it. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

Is it possible to reconnect the wires to the bulb holder on the glow plug bulb? 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

I haven't tried it before on those bulb holders, but you will have to remove the contract strip, feed the wire through, solder it on and pull the wire with the contract strip back into the holder.

The difficulty part si figuring out how to remove that contact strip.

Thank you. I was not going to try it myself but to ask the garage to do it when the vehicle is in for other work. I just hold the key for about 10 seconds and she fires up grand. Thanks again.
