Hi Harry. The exhaust is great. Really well made and comes with all the fixtures and fittings needed. It’s practically straight through, however has a small silencer section that replaces the CAT, but this is mainly in place to aid the sound. Having a small silencer at the front is better than at the rear. Overall I would definitely recommend the exhaust! My original one was very rotten so this stainless version should last and sounds great! Instagram - @Land_Rover_Defender

Thanks Greeny, any idea how it compares noise-wise to a TD5 with a normal mid box delete? Does it drone or anything similar at motorway speeds? 2005 Td5 110 Hardtop

The Twisted one is more of a refined/designed sound and it burbles more on idle. Having a straight through from the CAT section back compared to having just the small box silencer at the rear makes a difference I think.

Silencer mounted at the front gives a much sweeter sound than when mounted at the rear. The longer the pipe after the silencer (expansion tank) the more time the grasses have to smooth out and exit in an orderly fashion. Silencer at the rear which most people do means it sweetens towards the rear then hits the expansion tank and falls out the tail pipe.

If you were doing long journeys sat on the motorway then it might not be the best option to be honest. But Twisted offer a centre silencer option which reduces the drone but keeps the sounds when accelerating. Instagram - @Land_Rover_Defender

Quick update on the work I have done on the TD5. Not much driving has happened sadly, but I have been ticking things off the list which needed doing. The engine has been cleaned and degreased, looks so much better than it did before. I removed the grille (after much confusion) and have been cleaning the intercooler (I might spray the fins black..because I can't get them clean really). Whilst the grille was off I have sprayed the slam panel and brackets which hold the intercooler on, installed the bonnet security panel from LRDSecurity. I will install this back onto the car next weekend. I have also sprayed the number plate light and headlight surrounds in Tonga Green. I'm not sure about the colour match yet... hopefully its somewhere near the right colour, I will be able to update next weekend Laughing

Got the front of the Landy back together over the weekend, finally! Put a few coats of clear coat on the intercooler after sanding it back and polishing it, the clear coat should help prevent any oxidisation and make cleaning it easier in the future. A few before and after photos.

Also installed some closed cell foam on top of the silent coat in the rear and then put a genuine load mat on top, but I have to admit that I didn't really notice a difference after taking it out. It would benefit from having closed cell foam all over the car, but I'm not that bothered currently.

Update on the 90. Struggling to remember what I have done since my last post on the Landy but I have changed the coolant and fitted some stainless jubilee clips instead of the stupid hose clips that ping and take your fingers off.

Fitted an LOF clutch spring. Was a pig to fit, ended up making a tool to force the clip in place. It certainly isnt a 15 min job, but it does make a good difference and the clutch is lighter now.

Installed a new intake system from the wing to the air box, pics below. It essentially fits into the original wing outlet via a flanged spigot and then straight to the airbox.

Replaced both seat box ends with a fresh panel from YRM. The old ones were rotting as always and I thought it would be best to put a bit of effort in and try to beat the rot. Installed some rubber gasket to prevent further rot and also fitted some stainless carpet retainers, which are under my under carpets controversially haha.

I am currently in the process of fitting some Eibach progressive lowering springs. I did think it would be easier than it is, but as per every job it seems to take longer and it is nice to replace the rusty stuff with new stainless things. Just got the drivers side to fit now. Already have Bilstein shocks on, hopefully the springs help increase the ride quality, as before it was very harsh and crashy.
