Does it think it is in low range on the transfer box?
MAF always effects acceleration, but wouldn’t cause it to hang onto revs, but unplug and try. Is it the same when on tickover? With mine the slightest touch of the pedal gets it reving |

Most likely the clutch pedal switch / fuel cut-off switch is defective. For the Td5 it's part MSK500010. It sits on top of the clutch master cylinder.
Mind that it is not compatible with its Td4 counterpart, although they look the same. Regards, Joris Antares Treadwell, a MY06 110 Td5 in Chawton White |

Mine is much better after having new injector seals and the timing set correctly. Still have a delay but not as bad as it was. Low revs/1st gear starting off is better as well. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I drive with the clutchpedal sensor disconnected. You can try that. Or if that doesn't help short the connector you pulled off the sensor. If both do not solve the problem then it is not the clutch pedal sensor. Roel

Thanks Joris. I took the connector off to find it full of oil. Looks like the seal must have gone and this caused the clutch pedal switch to short. Got a new switch on order so fingers crossed that's it solved. Thanks again. Paul. 2003 Td5 90XS 1970 Series 11A 2.25TD 2013 Freelander 2 HSE Lux (the wife's) |

Without the plug connected, is the problem gone? You can drive it this way, the ecu doesn't really need the clutch signal. Roel
