I have a leaking swivel seal and will be replacing the pair. Should I do the bearings too, given I'll be taking everything apart? 60km vehicle, with (as far as I know) original bearings. If so, what brand?

They are not bank breaking so may as well. I would recommend Timken for quality aftermarket.
Although I can understand why people wouldn't bother given that seals are penny parts whereas quality bearings are maybe £25 - £30 each for aftermarket or £45 - £50 each for genuine so it turns a few quid job in to maybe a couple of hundred Could get the bearings in then strip/inspect the condition. Can always return them > 110 XS Double Cab |

Another vote to say yes and to go for Timkin bearings. If you’re stripping everything down it’s hardly any extra work. Also worth checking brakes for wear.

Thank you all. New bearings (Timken is what I was looking at) it is.

Also Worth fitting Stainless Steel Swivel Oil Seal retainers while you're there. Stiffer than standard so helps stop Oil seal leaks.

What locking nut system will you use? If the newer type you will need to measure and adjust the end float when putting everything back again.

For goodness sake don't buy the bearings from any form of car parts supplier. Go to a bearing specialist, they will charge you far less than any land rover dealer or specialist, same for the seals. It is not a Defender, it is a One_Ten
