Kielder Land Rover Run

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Forestry Commission we have been asked by the Forestry Commission to organise a convoy of Land Rovers to drive though the private tracks of Kielder Forest on Saturday May 11th 2019. We are aiming for 100 Land Rovers to coincide with the 100th anniversary as these vehicles played a huge part in the development of the Forestry Commission. The run will be open to Land Rover Series models,Defender models & Forward Control. It’s free to take part in the event but you must book a place.

Website: http://www.kielderlandroverrun.co.uk

We are also arranging a camping field but there will be a nominal charge for this as we will have to hire toilets, more details to follow.

The Kielder Classic car show takes place on the Sunday which is also free to attend.

Also we are trying to get a forces charity involved and have talks with them in a couple of weeks so I will let people know when this is sorted.

Any questions please just get in touch. Thumbs Up

Finally thanks to Martin for allowing me to post about the event Bow down Cheers Ian

Did drive round Kielder Forest and found it so boring. Hope this one is better.

If you're looking for challenging tracks this event probably isn't for you then, this is more about getting 100 Land Rovers together to celebrate the centenary, the tracks will be very tame. Cheers Ian

Not the most helpful of comments when Ian is trying to promote a charity fund raiser.

This could be a good excuse for a Def2 meeting.

I've just had an enquiry via pm and just to clarify this isn't a fundraiser for Mountain Rescue like our normal Kielder 4x4 Safari events are, this is to celebrate 100 years of the Forestry Commission but we will be trying to raise some money for our chosen charity once it's all signed off. Saying that, we do hope to have one of our team ambulances along with us for the day and we will probably have our supporters trailer there also. Thumbs Up Cheers Ian
