Using 2 standard batteries for dual battery set up
I've decided to go with putting two standard sized batteries turned 90 degress in the seat box for my dual batteries. I've been in the car today to remove the jack etc and check they both fit. All good, they go in with loads of room for the split charge gubbins. I can make my own little steel battery tray to hold them in place.

What I can't figure out is how you get the original pos and neg cables onto the repositioned starter battery. Has anyone who has done this been able to use the standard cables or do they have to be lengthened? I would prefer not to alter them if at all possible.

At the moment, the starter is the left battery as you look at the seat box through the passenger door, with the positive terminal towards the door, neg towards the middle of the car.

Any advice would be appreciated. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

+'ve to front batt. Std earth to rear batt. Then flying leads connect two earth and connect two +'ve to run two perm linked in parallel.

Or +'ve through split charge/vsr to have as separate charging. Cheers

That’s how I was thinking of arranging them, but the +ve cable won’t reach quite far enough to get on the +ve terminal of the start battery. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

No problem

+ve at the front middle of vehicle and it doesn't reach? It's only moved a few inches and moved closer to cable inlet routing has itnot? Post a pic Cheers

Think maybe I’ve got the battery the wrong way round. I’ve got the +ve terminal nearest the door. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
