Help me identify next steps..
Hi people.
Never had my defender running quite right since I purchased it.
I have replaced one injector which was showing no pilot when all tested.
Left the other 3 in but changed seals. They apparently were out of tolerance but I felt I was getting ripped off. So only replaced one.

Full service
Glowplugs changed
Fuel filter
Pilot relearn and fuel pump 're learn carried out successful.
Engine starts on the button.
Runs smooth.
But it still looks a bit smokey even when fully up to temp.
I can't decide if it's grey over fuelling
It can look slightly blue.
It's not on the road so I can't give it a good thrashing.
What else can I check ?

I changed the MAF, fuel filter, fuel regulator and the sender/pump in the tank then used redex for a month seems to run better pic of the sender after having it removed at around 170000 miles I only got the Defender at 161000 off a machine hire company that did its own servicing so no history but a decent price I was having cut out problams shortly after setting off then whist going slow in busy traffic times ie morning rush hr etc if this helps.

Thanks for the replies.
No Dtc showing.
I cleaned the maf and map with contact cleaner.
Could they cause it to overfuel with out showing Dtc?
I guess if they are cheap I could replace and rule them out.
That tank pick up you replaced. Was it straight forward?
Not that I think that's my issue but mine is has a crack in the plastic.
Best way to check intake leaks is spray carb cleaner and listen if it picks up?
Any other thoughts gratefully received.... Big Cry

It has been a while you are having troubles. Any chance you can take your rig to one of the tuning companies known in this forum? They know their science and have all sort of tools. Puma 110" SW
