Centre box removal!
My centre box is mostly rust, so needs replacing. I see a few people replace it with a straight through pipe, is there any performance improvement to be had by doing this in its own, or is it just a cheaper way of replacing this section of the exhaust?

it certainly makes it louder which is not great.

personally i think on a remapped vehicle it makes for a small gain in pickup. dont know on standard map not tried it. Cheers

Yes, it’s worth doing helps gasses exit faster with less restriction.

Don’t expect wonders though, there isn’t much gain. You do however not have the ‘lump’ of a centre box under there vulnerable any more or the weight. Diesel$ Live$ Matter. ⛽️🛢️👨‍🔧🧰⚙️ RED, WHITE & BOOST! 🇬🇧

I have used a straight-through pipe on my 110 since I spent a day with JST's on his land, which thoroughly did for my old centre box. Pretty awful design to allow it hang below the chassis members ....

Noise increase is very minimal and certainly not obtrusive on my truck at least. I don't have carpets or any additional sound insulation.

I haven't noticed any power increase but then mine is bone stock standard map.

The Terrafirma pipe I used is stainless and fits well - looks like it will last well too.
