Camshaft Carrier leak
Has anyone had a leak from the join in their Camshaft Carrier? Mine is leaking and I'm trying to figure out why it would start leaking. My local 4x4 garage had a look and confirmed its the carrier joint (not rocker, head, vacuum pump etc) but said they have never seen one leaking and unsure of what would cause it.

Any ideas?

Mine's had a very slight leak (over the front branch of the exhaust manifold) for at least the last 9 years. It's not bad enough to bother about, but I don't think that it's unusual.

Ahh that’s good to hear that it’s drivable. Do you know if you can just carefully remove the carrier leaving camshaft and everything else in place? Im guesssing I need to tension off the timing chain? Then clean up and reseal?

I believe the camshafts have to come out before the carrier can be removed from the head.
