Sounds like over fuelling, has the wagon had a remap? If not it could have a slight boost leak. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

It's also possible:

1. MAF issue
2. copper washer at the injectors
3. injector wear and tear
4. turbo issue
5. driver demand (throttle pedal issue)
6. leaking turbo hoses
7. stuck EGR
8. intercooler requires a flush or replacement
9. oil in the ECU From the land of the most expensive land rover defenders on planet earth. At 125k for a XS 110 csw and you get to own it only for 10yrs! Please find me a good reason to stay on this island.

Has it always done this? Just started? Worse when hot/cold?
Have you tried driving it with MAF disconnected?
Checked the air filter?

The fact that it gets worse the longer you idle sounds like a temperature issue. Is the smoke having a blue tint? Wheres your coolant level? I'm on IG: https://www.instagram.com/osloblue42/

Could be a leak in the intercooler or its hoses. They show up worse once they have go warm, as they become softer.

Also check your turbo-to-intercooler & intercooler-to-intake manifold hoses for internal delamination (causing air deprivation under medium to high boost conditions).
