I haven't the time or internet access to check properly at the moment, but doesn't the Raptor console fit without cutting? I could be wrong, and it's aftermarket, not LR, but worth a quick look to check. Donald

The mud console physically fits over the lower dashboard without any cutting. You just cant fit anything with any real depth to it (i.e. radio, dials or switches) in the lower half without cutting the dash.

"but doesn't the Raptor console fit without cutting?"

No, the Raptor console requires you to cut a section out of the lower dash.
That said, when fitted it is an excellent piece of kit. ONE LIFE, GET IT!

The Raptor dash is a great bit of kit. Can I ask why you don't want to cut?

The whole point of these dash consoles is to provide space that the original dash doesn't but they're only going to work with the original removed.

If you really don't want to cut your dash then you could, instead, fit the earlier radio mount in the space between the vents and add extra switches to the oval recess inthe centre of the lower dash. There are various options for overlay plates for the latter that allow all sorts of switch and gauge combinations to be installed. I think Mud might do them but they're certainly available on eBay.

Alternatively, you could build your own Shocked

As above, the point of a console is to fit additional accessories.
If you only want to fit a single radio, the MUD dash has a single position in the top angled face that can be used without cutting the dash. May not be suitable for some CD players that are prone to skipping if mounted at an angle.
I'm sure switches could be fitted in the lower area with careful positioning or short depth.

I was reluctant to cut the dash initially, but the convenience outweighed the concerns.
If it was a pristine, 100% original vehicle I wouldn't do it.
