Does the screen suggest that the 1.85 figure is only the average (mean?) over the last 15 mins? There appears to be several areas where the figure was returning over 2.

Loving the flat underside.

I find it a little odd that Rivian will not tell them the actual capacity of the battery. Might suggest that they have some reserve capacity there they are holding back until they have more real world usage or they have concerns over thermal management/longevity.

It's all interesting stuff, but suspending all retail sales after delivering so few, seems an odd decision that throws up questions about what is really going on there.

Yak farmer is the star of the show there. Thumbs Up

It’s a 4 ton pick up truck running on all terrains not a Tesla optimized for its drag coefficient and on low friction tyres so not sure what you expect? If you divide it’s max range of 300m by the useable 135KW stated it’s only 2.2 m/kw, so getting 1.85 in winter still gives a range of 250 miles. Pretty good for an EV pick up on test.

Just for comparison (and odd that they're using miles per kw, most people seem to be using wh per mile?)

Rivian: 455Wh per mile
Tesla model 3 (stated): 243Wh per mile
Audi e-tron quattro (stated): 384Wh per mile
Nissan Leaf (stated): 264Wh per mile

So yeah, pretty inefficient, but not unexpected given it's size, drag and weight!

If anything, it does show how far JLR are behind, or appears so. Not withstanding the vehicle supply issues.

With the current state of the UK and uncertainty I wonder how many people would jump straight over to the Rivian SUV if it became available to us here tomorrow.

The segment with the Yak farmer does show this as a multi use vehicle and not an accessory for the chino wearing, Twitbook, Apple fan club.

Why does it have to be so ugly? Is there a reason why it can’t just look like a normal pickup?

Technologically quite impressive though.

Quite a bit of Rivian coverage on ‘The Long Way Up’ with Ewan McGregor also with 2x Electric Harley Davidson’s
Quite a good watch and although mainly in South America it shows the charging infrastructure has a long way to go yet, with them having to have a diesel generator for back up sometimes! 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html
