I'd recommend speaking with Craig at Buzzweld, he does a range of excellent paints. I suspect a RCP primer would be good. James

To use there rust encapsulator as primer base coat which is handy as reading up on it itโs also good for chassis stuff. Will either go for aerosol or tinned and blow over with a spray gun. Not decided on top coat yet. Currently got wolf wheels in nato green satin so may go for the same on my mach 5โs as green wheels suit the truck ( ex mod) and break up the black of the wheels a bit

Thank you!
![]() I thought that "Rust Encapsulator" might feature in their reply. I have a set of wheels to paint for use on a Series 1, hence my interest in your question. |

I had my series one wheels shot blasted. I picked them up then took them to the garage and covered them under a blanket. Two days later I went back to them and panicked as they were still bare metal and were showing the first signs of rust spots appearing!
I coated them all with zinga {from frost.co.uk} thinned down and sprayed through my cheap and nasty air compressor tool kit sprayer(Clarke) Now its primed and painted and im confident they will never rust again. 1953 80" 1987 mini city e 2011 90" |

When I had my steel wheel blasted they were primed in a grey primer at the same time as part of the service.
My only quibble was that there were little bits of sand embedded in the seams which were a ![]() |
