Looking good Ihod.

I'm not a fan of LED headlights but those Trucklites look decent. Nice grille too.

Lazy jobs today as I only had 10 minutes messing about.

Wipac smoked clear LED indicators and tail lights to the rear end to match the front. I need to add the reverse, fog and number plate lamp....and probably the side indicator repeaters, too.

And replacement of the indicator relay for the LED lamps. Advice, please: should the trailer lamp flash once or not at all? Plus a VW 99 relay for programmable wiper delay; just need to change the wiper blades for something better....

As usual, not a lot to time today but have properly pop riveted the lower grille section into place and added a new badge as a finishing touch to the front end:

LR interior rubber mats fitted to front, rear and load bed.

Climair wind deflectors installed:

LED fog and reverse finally added with just the number plate lamp and side repeaters left to do. And a change of badge to the rear:

So.....do I drill 36 holes on the bonnet or not.....?

Have been stood looking at this for an hour and am still undecided.

For me, no. Send it back! But it's your vehicle to do with as you wish. Unless you NEED it for practical reasons (i.e. climbing all over your bonnet on a regular basis to get to the front of a rack), I don't see any benefit of having it. Unless you really love the way it looks, but personally I really don't. 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Dammit! I knew that would be the first response (and probably what I was thinking).

I’m installing a roof rack. Ability to stand on the bonnet would be useful. And it covers a number of pre-existing scratches and dints which helps (and the thinnest coat of paint I’ve ever seen leave a factory).

But I’m still not convinced by the look of it.... Ian

That's a mod that you've got to really love or need to justify. If you can't say an absolute yes to one or the other then don't do it. Darren

I can justify it.....I just don’t love it.

Ideal for the roof rack. Ideal for kids on the bonnet. Ideal as it covers a multitude of sins on an otherwise very straight van.

But not pretty! Ian

4x4overlander used to be able to supply bonnet steps...

http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic12639.html

I don't know if they still have them but a possible solution if you don't want to cover the whole bonnet.
