I finally got around to fitting the proper spec "99" relay. I finally have programmable variable relay! Very Happy

One thing I did notice is that the wash function only wipes once - whereas the LR one would repeat x amount of times.

I have also just purchased one from Ebay and hopefully it will be here in time for the weekend! It looks like an ace mod.

Thanks.

Just been out and fitted mine and it works perfectly. Took about ten minutes. For anybody wondering, the relay to replace is the brown one on the right nearest to the heater levers.

When you say they run constantly, do you mean just in the intermittent position or that you can't turn them off?

If the former, then it could just be that the last time it was programmed, it was done so really quickly so that the delay has been effectively set to zero. Try letting them run for a few seconds, turning them off and then turning back on again. This should reset it. Darren

Hi LandRoverAnorak

I fitted the relay turned the ignition on and switched the wipers to intermittent and they wipe constantly. If I put the wiper switch back to the off position the wipers still keep going, the only way to stop them is to turn the ignition off. Rolling Eyes

Thanks

Hmm, doesn't sound good then. You sure it's in the socket the right way around? Darren

Hey LandRoverAnorak

I looked at it and it will only fit one way with the terminals are set up.

That's exactly the one I'm using without any trouble:

To be honest, given that they seem to work for others too, I can only think that there's something strange about the wiring in your vehicle. Sorry, can't be much more help than that Sad Darren

Hello LandRoverAnorak,

How many pins has your relay got? I'm not sure if it makes any difference but my 99 relay is half the size of the one shown in your pic and the part number is stamped into the side not printed. Just wondering if the one I have is a newer version?
