What mileage has it done? My injector pump has just been rebuilt and injectors replaced at 187k. Not helped by discovering some numpty had wound up the dial on the pump and it was hosing out..... I expect fuel economy to be a bit better when the engine is finally rebuilt.....

It’s done a hair over 140 000. I’ve had a more thorough poke around and found that the leak off pipe was in 2 bits so replaced that so hopefully that will have solved the issue.

I was just about to say it's probably the leak off pipes, same happened on mine, they often get small cracks in and the diesel will run down the injector onto the clamp and make a mess. Give everything a good wipe down while you're there and then next time you go out in it you will be able to see if you've fixed it

Thanks Trickster, the offending area has been cleaned so will wait and see whether that was the issue, hopefully the bit of pipe lying around in the garage has saved me from filling up every 100 miles

I would do as Dorsetsmith suggests and buy some proper, snug fitting pipe or buy the whole leak off pipe kit off Paddocks including new washer and banjo bolts just to be safe - quite cheap Matt.
