United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Dog guard (con't)
Hey thanks for the info on dog guard installation.
Based on the comments I thought I would ask my local dealer to fit one (will be getting my new 110 in 2 or 3 weeks)
Holly molly - over £400 !!!!!!!
At the same time I asked for a rear work light - over £300 !!!!!!!
Hum - too right for me.

Looks like DIY for me

I asked about the dog guard and said no when told the price. I did manage to get a worklight for a bit less than your quote though... 2011 110 USW

remember dealers are there to be beaten down, the tow bar with elec is only £250 and that is rated for a hell of a lot more than a dog guard.

I fitted the LR dog guard in my hardtop; it was easy enough and took less than an hour. I couldn't bring myself to drill the roof fixings, but it's solid without.

See my post on your previous thread.

Buy it yourself, fit it yourself. If things have to be 'adjusted' do you want someone who cares about the end result doing it or someone who is under the cosh to get it done in 10 mins?

The dealers are good for some things - obviously anything that affects warranty - but is is a job for you, a spanner, maybe a vice and a cup of tea Thumbs Up One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Alan, you forgot the plasters and the requisite teddy bear, which you will need to rip the head off to calm you down when it still wont fit after the third attempt Twisted Evil

Don't worry though GN, it will fit on the fourth attempt as you will make it FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
