recently a UK bank bounced a cheque because they claim I was not authorised to sign (I have successfully signed a good number over the last 4 years) but they took me through telephone security and then discussed the account in details with me during which time they told the names of those authorised to sign (this included a few who had left us many years ago and have been previously removed from mandate) and they discussed transactions on the account ..... then they confirmed that i had no authority over the account...... So they discussed an account in detail with someone who they believe is not authorised... Such talent it amazes me
by the way I am authorised they have just lost / cancelled / shredded / pressed delete the correct bank mandate and reverted back to a very old historic one. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper

Our electricity supply was cut for a couple of days due to lightening striking a pole in the next field, once they fixed all seemed well until the start of the cooler weather when we found out none of the night store heaters were working which I thought indicated a problem with either the contactor or meter. I had the circuit and all the heaters checked and deemed ok by my own electrician who said that our digital meter was likely to have been affected by the nearby lightening strike.

A call to Scottish Power and two engineer visits later we had a new contactor and an assurance that all was well with the meter ....except we still had no night store heaters. A third engineer visit and the meter was declared faulty probably due to the lightening strike Rolling Eyes

Surprise, surprise our next bill was for 2 grand more than it should have been Shocked

Umpteen phone calls and emails to Scottish Power and they are still using the old fooked meter readings as a basis of their accounts and even with escalating the matter to a formal complaint the overbilling has still not been resolved.

Mgit... once the electricity has got all the way from Scotland to Norfolk it must be worn out, no wonder the poor little electrons can not get all the way through the coils in your storage radiators, try asking for some Anglian Electricity it may work better. Crying or Very sad

I would sack Scotish Power and go with the all new Nuclear power electricity, it is four times more powerful, Thumbs Up so you only use a quarter of conventional electricity and what you do not use during the night can be stored in cans to use the next day. Plus you do not have a meter, you just pay what you think you have used, last year I used £2.50 worth. Well that was an enlightening series of phone calls.

Firstly after 30mins waiting to talk to a human I got through to a nice lady at Npower who tried to sort out why the account hadn't worked.
Turns out it was a one off issue (mhum Rolling Eyes) where the on-line database hadn't uploaded my details correctly and needed to be refilled. Ok these things happen. This is where it gets interesting.... She started asking about how new the flat was, who the previous occupier was, had we had any electrical work done. I asked why and she replied "you don't exist, you have no meter your electricity is coming straight off the grid"

Now, after the first existential crisis and now the second one I came to my senses, What do you mean I don't have a meter I can tell you I do! I gave her its serial code and low and behold - nope you don't exist. So I reply with the fist thing that comes to mind - "Does this mean I have got free electricity?"

"No!" came the firm response, "I will have to escalate this higher, Please hold" Yet more deals and offers available on-line and horrendous music when she comes back on, "Hello? Yes your with Scottish Power you need to call them or I can switch you to us?"

This is a revelation to me because when we moved in I asked our landlady and estate agent who our suppliers were, they first said SSE, then British gas, and then definitely Npower- that was who we sent your meter readings to so set up your account with them- which I did and never got a response, hence why we are in this mess. I'm not allowed to switch provided because of our tenancy agreement (yes really), so I got in contact with Scottish power.

"Sorry, we don't supply you, in fact we have never supplied you, as far as we are concerned you don't exist"

Time for existential crisis no3. Laughing

After the same process as with Npower I have now got a on-line account and supplier and will start billing next month with the outstanding sorted.

Now I have got that all sorted out I need to go for a ride in the car Rolling with laughter

Having a right grump at the moment, sourced a brake master cylinder and servo to replace mine on my abs Td5 on Wednesday, paid the money by card was promised it next day i.e. yesterday and spent a very frustrating day waiting for the courier. When contacted late afternoon was told that it was with the courier just be patient, today they tell me that it's been lost by the courier.
To say that I'm a little unhappy is an understatement, the eejit on the phone said it's a shame but these things happen.
If they didn't want to sell me the damned thing in the first place then they shouldn't have sold me the bloody thing, I've dealt with the company before and they've been pretty good that's why I went back but it's not the best thing to happen on a Friday getting parts delivered via courier so I'm going to be without a motor all weekend at this rate Evil or Very Mad

What is all this 'Mother's Day' advertising?
It's an American thing held on the 8th May.

'Mothering Sunday' is this weekend.

Well, well, well...

Brought the car in at the dealer Took them all week to get the car leak free. Got the call today and they'd exchange the cars after work. Got another call around six. Apparently they almost reached my destination but the car lost all power.
Guess I'll be driving a Disco Sport for another few days... Big Cry

I had a similar experience lately which led me to think I was living in some kind of parallel universe. Normally I do all my banking online but I had a need to deposit a bank draft in the branch. As this transaction was critical to another I phoned my bank to ask them to confirm its acceptance, I'm not entirely sure where in the world their call centre is but the conversation went like this. I'd like to check my account balance, " yes sir what is your telephone banking PIN number" I didn't know I had one, in any case I don't know it. "Not a problem sir I'll transfer you to my colleague who will process it for you". I went through a similar explanation with this new person who transferred me to a specialist who dealt with telephone banking. " so sir" he said " I understand you can't remember your PIN number" correct I replied, " not a problem sir I can reset your pin. number for you now" after a few questions he asked what new PIN number I wanted, I told him and he entered it into the system. " now sir to complete the change I just need to enter your old PIN number to authorise the change". I'm sure he heard my head hit the floor from where ever in the world he was. SWMBO asked why i was foaming from the mouth, I couldn't form the words to reply........who employs these people? Big Cry Big Cry I started with nothing and still have most of it left!

Censored idiots that don't understand how EBay works!

So my listings stated, "cash on collection" "pick up only" "will not courier" etc.

They then bid, win, pay with PayPal and say "can you stick it on a pallet for me, your too far away!"

message me saying they will collect at such and such date, time, without even bothering to confirm if that's ok with me,
And just expect me to be at home!

And why is it that you get one person so desperate to buy what you have, sending messages with cash offers,
Stupid questions all week, what's the weight? How high? When it's all clearly listed, and then they never even Censored bid?..

My Favourite one was after receiving 1 bid, the bidder sends a message saying...now I have bid, will you take it off eBay to save you the hassle?

So many time wasters!

Aggressive nobbs on trail bikes. If you can't ride it gently without rooster tails off the back tyre on a byway, then don't get all upset when someone points out how much of a "Richard" you are. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.
