Why Is it that the one day I have to do a Coolant Flush it is a really hot day!

Can't get the engine cool enough to drain the coolant after dropping girlfriend at work, so I can do part 1 and then part 2!

Tomorrow its meant to rain all day, brilliant exactly the right weather for doing a engine flush.

But I'm going to a BBQ Banging Head Banging Head Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Why is it...
that on a generally well behaved, friendly and convivial place like D2, where we are all like-minded passionistas with a common interest... Whistle

There is always someone willing to jump in, criticise and publicly shame other members at the drop of a hat... Evil or Very Mad

I say take a good look in the mirror before placing your digit on the keyboard and spoiling someone's day, for the benefit of all of us... Cool

Or go join one of the myriad other places that seem to tolerate and even encourage such unnecessary bad manners, please... Mr. Green

I always assume that those types of people on D2 are in fact Jeep or Rav 4 owners wishing and pretending to be Defender owners. Laughing For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Litter louts!
We have just been up to Helmsley, I went off to a couple of shops an met back up with Bren in the market square by the statue. On the steps there were a couple of screwed up paper pasty bags, a cup lid and tea bag and all this within 2 m of four big bins. Lazy arses! Needless to say I picked it up and shoved it in the bin.

Grumpy Old Persons Thread. As long as it not gender specific, makes no difference to me. Women as just as entitled to be grumpy as men. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

Those of us who are genuinely old are even more entitled.
Should we have a separate thread for whingeing youngsters?

People who cannot be courteous (or aware) enough to pull over when they are driving well below the speed limit on a mountain road. Big Cry

The silly season has arrived, with tourists seemingly too terrified of the bends on a standard A road (bone dry, good quality surface) that they trundle along well below the recommended 50km limit. By the time we get to the bottom, they may have as many as 25 cars behind them, (including 8-wheeler tippers and coaches able to keep up). No idea what they are expecting to happen, as it is not as if this is the Khyber Pass, but neverthless they dribble along.

As they are either entirely unaware of anything but their journey or else have completely frazzled brains and should not be driving anyway, they make no effort to pull over. OK, we 'all share the road' and they have every right to be where they are, but pulling over is as much a sign of good driving as anything in the Highway Code, as you should be aware of the prevailing conditions and drive with a view to cars around you. Driving too slowly makes people irate and risk doing rash things, dangerous on mountain roads when you're being overtaken by a 18 year-old nutter in a 106 older than he is. So why can they not pull over?

It is 5Kms from the centre of my town to the bottom of the hill, single lane all the way, but large enough for two coaches to pass. Nothing scary and no cause for driving at almost half the speed limit. So if you are travelling at a pace that means you have no need to brake when you reach the 30km school-zone, you are definitely going too slowly and should have been corteous enough to pull over in one of the seven (yes, seven) lay-byes or bus-stops along the way.

Banging Head

And don't get me started on tractors....

A recommended 50km limit.... What does that mean? It does not exist. A limit is a limit, point final, the word recommended is at odds with that.
And as far as I'm concerned, those mountain drivers should better drive a bit more careful on those often steep roads. Crazy at what speeds those drivers go at on those winding roads and hairpin turns all the time, even if they do it every day. Guess they think they can defeat physics, once in a while proven wrong I guess. Rolling Eyes You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Whilst, in principle, I agree with the non-gender approach to many things in life... Rolling Eyes

Would this approach account for the more serious grumps, of the other gender, especially when a Grumpy Old Man winds them up (or any man for that matter!), as is more often than not the case... Twisted Evil

I sense a thread filling, mind altering, spate of uber grumps posts in the offing with such a change... Shocked

Just sayin'.

Censored delivery drivers. Waiting for delivery of awning for the caravan which has been away for repair, I have been sat 10 yards away from the front door since 08.00hrs and nobody has rang bell or knocked on the door except neighbour who called 10 minutes ago asking me to feed their cat at tea time. and what is in the letter box a card from a driver who claims he could not get a reply , lying Censored They must have used a feather to knock with.

Rang number on card it is a company 40 miles away if I would like to collect after 6.00pm Censored if I will, we can deliver tomorrow, I'm not available tomorrow ,Oh in that case we will send it back to the company who arranged delivery . What the Censored, its is my property and I am paying for the delivery. They claim that the have no contact with the driver lying Censored they can if I want something picking up though.

Rant over Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Doctors receptionists, or specifically those permed harridans with an over inflated belief in their own self importance. The ones with the ability to tap away on a keyboard, answer the phone and indulge in idle chat to fellow receptionists for long minutes while totally ignoring the presence of real people standing only inches away. It only takes a second to make eye contact, smile and say that they won't keep you long. Steve.
