Brake Servo
Hi

Brakes work but have a rock hard pedal. Garage said the servo is not creating a vacuum so change the servo?

How easy is it to change the servo and how long does it take.

Where is the best place to get a new servo? Britpart ok?

Cheers

Unbolt master cylinder from servo -- remove vac pipe and unbolt servo from pedal box -- Shuffle master cylinder forward a little -- Remove the servo

Refitting is the reversal of removal. If you fancy a bit more wiggaling room then you can prop the bonnet fully open and use a bungee to stop it falling on you or just simply remove the bonnet.

The servo's have a habit of cracking round the bolts so the vacuum leaks out. I would recommend a TRW or equiv branded servo.

Yup TRW or Genuine, remember they are your brakes you don't want to skimp out on cheap parts that may fail!
