United Kingdom 2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Stornoway Grey
Jate Rings
Daft question time.

I've taken the lashing rings off the front of the chassis this evening (noticed a bit of surface rust on the chassis already .. ) and gone to fit the jate rings I kept from the 07 Puma.

The jate rings are wider than the chassis and I can't remember if I packed them out with washers last time. Should they be packed out with washers to give a more snug, rattle free fit or left loose?

Cheers,
John John

Hi JSG

Make sure that you can still move them with your finger.

At club events i have recovered vehicles but then unable to unhitch either a shackle or winch hook because the jate ring has jammed up against the chassis because it was too tight in the firt place.

All the best

Mark
