good stuff grafty, can you pm me what tracker you use? Also if those are known to be water traps, I would go around the box itself with tiger seal. I did this with my rover metro and it never leaked again! But once that's stuff goes off that's it the box will not come back out again Laughing Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I've not heard of them going but both of mine had. I'll probably install with sealant as it's only there for LHD/RHD. Basically on a LHD vehicle it would be the pedal box.

On a RHD car there isn't a need for it to ever come out and if I were starting from a bare shell I'd weld it up Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

So the job has snowballed somewhat Laughing

I'm retrimming the headlining in cream alcantara. I'm adding wiring for future sound system upgrades. Also running wires for additional interior lighting (as the standard lights are very poorly placed).

The pillars are going gloss black. (as are the grille and bumpers)

The roof is away being painted.

The windows (b pillar back) are going to have a light tint (very light, not limo)

So yeah, the weekend deadline has gone well and truly out of the window Laughing 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I declared a SORN at the end of November to take the pressure off. Probably a bad idea in hindsight Laughing

Whilst it was in the workshop I figured I may as well get the rest of the jobs finished so come spring I can enjoy it a not have any more fiddling to do!

The only stuff left will be nice stuff such as audio upgrades etc Thumbs Up

I think all BL clocks of the same era were similar. Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Yeah most of the BL stuff or practically the same car, The metro lads used to buy the range rover stalks for metros, With these lighting up etc.

If the options there to do the rest of the jobs in one go i would, Somthing i have learned with the rover metro, Might as well go the full smash, gives you somthing to do over the xmas and new year Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Bit drastic just to change the headlining!! Laughing

My next job is the headlining. Gypsies tent at the back half at present. Looking to get material from Martrim - samples seem like good quality and they have one which actually matched the sun visors even after 26 years of ageing.

Have researched the DIY headlining replacement and even the pro's need all day so it sounds like fun!

It amazes me how heavy that floor pan sound deadening material is too.

Nice looking friend on the tailgate. What would we do without a drop down back end! I notice the jointing strip between the tailgate carpet and the boot carpet looks intact - have you replaced that? mine is badly split.

Thumbs Up Wannabe Defender Owner - on the hunt.

Yeah definitely, I wouldn't recommend full roof removal to replace the headlining Laughing

I've bought alcantara so will be having a go at upholstering the sun visors (and possibly pillars) to match. It may turn out dreadful, I won't know until its in!

All of the carpet is original. It's a 2 owner car so has been well looked after and so the boot floor to tailgate strip is original Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Today, I have been teaching myself to use my Mum's sewing machine. In preparation for the headlining being finished in alcantara, I have made a start on covering the sunvisors. I painted the brackets black for something a bit different.

Here are the results so far....
