Well put Greeni. I finally dropped a box of parts with a manufacturing engineer last Friday and he is going to sort out drawings, specs, process and costs of manufacture. The brief was the same in all cases - keep the look completely original but improve on the material and finish. It will be interesting to see what comes back. On a related note, does anyone know why the windscreen blocks have helical inserts? It isn't as if they are removed on a regular basis.

Although the Gore ones will have concealed fixings, making the doors more difficult to steal. You certainly notice the genuine ones when they've gone missing along with the doors. ![]() |

@zsd...I bought the GORE fuel filter housing...so you need to take what I say with a pinch of salt. I'm a punter too

I see the new gore security hinges are now available. They are very steeply price. Honestly I think sellers just think if they stick the word defender in the title they can charge what they like

Yeah i saw the price and thought i'd give them a miss too. Although to be fair it's still cheaper than buying a complete new set of doors.
It's even worse when they put the words Range Rover in the title. |

After starting this thread months ago, and much too-ing and fro-ing between options I've finally gone for these because the driver's door has become too bad to ignore. Original LR hinges were going to cost ~£310 for 8, and they'd need prepping, priming & painting. These were £180 for 4, they're solid stainless with a stainless pin, exactly the same shape as OE, and they come ready painted. Blacker than a moonless night.

They'll be going on as soon as the Naka bolt set arrives from 4x4Overlander, which should hopefully be tomorrow ![]() |

Are they YRM?
They must *make* the second row versions, although they may not *sell* second row sets. On the second row, both top and bottom hinges are identical to the front row lower hinge. The only different hinges are the front row uppers which have the mirror holes. So a seond row set would simply consist of two front lower hinges per side. |

What about the hinges from OX4x4? Expensive but do look good. I have the same dilemma for my series 3.

No, they're from http://www.sp-4x4.com
You're absolutely right. Its the 2nd row set that they don't sell, and I've yet to talk them into selling just the lower-front hinges.
Whilst they do look good and are likely to be excellent I dismissed them from my list because I want to keep the OE hinge shape. |

Has anyone got any experience with the hinges that TMD are now selling?
http://tmdtuning.com/shop/defender-security-door-hinges/ Just had deliver the GORE Windscreen Brackets which are very nice, but they're taking too long to release a set of hinges for the 110. |

Just bumping this thread also. Currently have a snapped 2nd row door hinge pin
![]() I’d like to stick to standard style - which leaves me to ask you all where is the best place to buy some standard ones that won’t break the bank..? I’d ideally like to replace all 8 while I’m at it. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS. |

I've been eyeing the Optimill ones for a while now, are they still the standard? --
