just need the i phone and that would work a treat

can't fault the satmap. I find with an iphone 3GS that the GPS is very unreliable. it gets confused between cell towers and actual gps and sometimes is way way out. its not reliable at all. satmap on the other hand is pinpoint accurate at all times and the route recording function is easy to use, easy to save and store the routes. if you get a satmap, get the suction cup mount to, its very reliable. I've been experimenting with an iPad and whilst the screen is fantastic, its a big bit of kit to have in the front if you're bouncing around.
